Missed Flights, Mojitos and Martial Arts...

So Steamin was suppose to fly down and kick it this weekend but inescapable beast that is work latched onto him with a grip that could not be broken and he unfortunately missed his flight. Looks like the next time I see him will probably be on Liz's big day. Luckily that's only a month away. But without him, it was up to Jorge, Hoa and I to hold down the fort and roll out to On Broadway to support our local DJ. But first, Jorge was fiending some mojitos and that meant swinging by Altitude first, where Hoa swears they make an excellent mojito. Well we were gonna just see about that.

We headed out around 10 and after navigating around some strange road closures because of the ballgame, we finally arrived only to find an uncharacteristically long line. By the time we finished our two mojitos (only one of which was up to our high standards) we headed over to On Breezy around 12:20. The guestlist had already closed, but some name dropping and some persuasion on Jorge's part got us in without too much hassle. The game plan was just to chill for a bit, say hi, and then bounce, but you know how that plan can go to hell rather quickly, especially when it's $5 wells. Long story short, I kept buying vodka crans even when Hoa, who had to work the next morning, should have stopped. But in my defense, I deferred to Jorge and he gave me the green light. All in all, it was a good time out even though Vu went MIA towards the end. But what's new right?

On Saturday, I woke up early so I could take Jorge to the airport. Couldn't muster up the motivation to do much else today except hit up the gym and some laundry. But at least I got to end the evening with some free PPV. You'd be surprised how much free stuff you can get on the internet. I mean I already watch a ton of shows commercial free. Now I've just discovered that there are people out there that stream PPV events and they basically just give it away. I'm pretty sure it's illegal but hey, don't ask don't tell right? So I spent my Saturday night in watching UFC 63 on my computer and updating my website. Not a bad weekend... now if I could only overcome my writer's block and finish Casey's personal statement. *sigh* Well here's to better luck tomorrow.
